There is one problem that none of us can cure; the money problems of a person who cannot manage or control their money.
It does not matter what you do. A person who has no control of their finances cannot be helped. It is like pouring water in a termites hole.
The only way out of financial mess is seeking good knowledge and understanding on money and its rules.
For instance, there are some people moving around our rural areas/townships and online recruiting people purporting to be online investments and stock trading platforms and promising people huge returns in dollars.
The tragic thing is many people have already signed up and have been tasked to recruit more people to boost their earnings. Professionals like teachers, nurses and other public officials based in rural areas are the biggest target by this scheme.
Can someone explain to me this sort of financial foolishness:
1. Shares all over the world are traded in organized stock markets that are highly regulated and each share belongs to a specific company, like say Safaricom, KCB, Absa or StanChart shares at the Nairobi Stock Exchange (NSE). So which shares are these people buying on this purported online stock trading platform?
2. Simply because there is a website and some Mzungu’s behind it, does it make it legit for a person of basic education/knowledge to invest in?
3. How do you get your hard earned cash to give it to someone you do not know or cannot even tell where their physical office is?
4. If there is such an easy way to make money, why don’t the people behind the scheme keep it for themselves? Who in this world finds easy money anywhere and just like that calls total strangers to share with them?
5. Why are they cajoling people to recruit others into the scheme to boost their earnings?
Not long ago, many people lost millions in similar ponzi/pyramid schemes. Many others have been washed in purported online forex or crypto schemes.
What sort of financial illiteracy/foolishness is this that people keep on demonstrating?
Take it from me: If you have put your hard earned cash into this scheme, Kuoshwa mtaoshwa!
Even a simple google search will give you information that the purported company behind it is a fake one. How then do you go ahead and give them your clean money? Why do you think you are suddenly more clever than the rest of the billions of people who work so hard to earn their money?
Proverbs 17:16 & 21:20: “A fool and his money will soon be parted”.
