At the outset of 2025, I set to achieve few but specific life transforming goals.
The Golden Jewel, however, was to summit the highest peak in the territory of Kenya, point Lenana on Mt. Kenya (I will be sharing my escapades of the year in later posts).
However, today I am here to share the amazing journey with this Jewel, that has been in the market for 18 months now. Yes, in that short time, over 1,500 copies have touched real lives and turned around perspectives on money and wealth out there.
I am not promising anything – I have left the book not only to tell its own but my story too.
However, this is what I have learned this far:
1. Those who buy the book, they simply buy it – only person who saw the book, liked it and promised to get back with an order has ever done so;
2. Quality and value sells – not a single copy nor a single feedback on typos in the book content that has ever been returned or brought to my attention. I am eternally grateful to my editor and printer for this meticulous work;
3. Unless you try, you’ll never know – I must admit, when I started writing the manuscript, I had never thought about selling the book. I just focused on pouring my soul & finest into it.
It was not until I got to the publishing part when scary stories of rejection from editors and collapse of books in the market place reared their ugly face. One notable evidence that I read was this at the Printing Stage:
“The majority of books never sell more than 500 copies in their lifetime”.
At that point, the cost of printing demanded a minimum of 1,000 copies to make economic sense. An industry insider had made it plain and clear that the Kenyan market is ruled by book price -period!
Simply put, the majority of Kenyan readers do not care much about the content of a book, but the price.
My experience this past 18 months is that this is true. However, avid readers, destiny chasers, clarity and purpose driven people will always spot and read a great Book.
In this book I open the reader into my inner world, share things that can only pass in the real world as miracles -but are true life experiences, explore the Kenyan financial landscape & connect to the socio-economic environment that governs flow of money & sustainability of wealth in the long term.
It does not matter at what stage you are in, beginner, middle range, millionaire or billionaire, I am certain you’ll find something for you in it.
