A flashy lifestyle is not a measure of wealth

At this edge of social media, there is a lot of pressure for each and everyone to conform.

Often times, it is easy to think its only you living a boring life from social media footprints of former school mates, co-workers, friends, extended family members or acquaintances.

However, before passing a harsh judgment on yourself, consider some fundamental truths about money and wealth:

1. As indicated from my earlier posts, real money and wealth fears noise -it only dwells in quiet abodes. Real wealth creators ask: ‘Where do i sent my money to work for me, not how do i spent the money in my pockets or bank’. The two questions are as far from each other as sunrise is from sunset;

2. Majority of those who own true wealth live frugal lifestyles – even in what appears as extravagance lifestyle to the poor and middleclass, wealthy individuals will still be living on a very small proportion of their money and wealth. After a certain level of wealth, money multiplies at a speed beyond what its faithful owner can spent;

3. Referencing from 2 above, if you are going to get to the velocity point where money multiplies faster than you can spend, there will be a season of planting, nurturing and sacrifices. If you make through this season, it is very unlikely you will ever want to splash opulence carelessly in public;

4. Ultimately, every river raises to its capacity – public display of opulence is a reflection of an underlying lack of internal capacity to handle money. Those who know how to make real money require no external validation from anybody else;

5. Question return on investment – creators of real wealth are purposeful in their spending. They will always seek to understand what is the return on investment on their expenditures. Even when they seem to spend expensively or throw some huge parties here & there, they mostly will have considered their returns or weighed the pros n cons of that expenditure;

6. A bonus point is -the motives for spending vary significantly between the wealthy on the one hand, and the middleclass and poor on the other. For most of the time, the wealthy invest for social capital and the mystery of giving; the poor & middleclass often spend to seek public affirmations or show-off.

Quote of the day: Even in their simplicity, creators of real wealth will always demonstrate a mark of sophistication in there way of doing things.
